Why it gets these verdicts

Few sellers answer every question the checker asks on one page. VelectriX does: motor 250-watt, operation 'Pedal-assist ONLY (no throttle)', maximum assist speed 25 km/h, standard EN 15194. Its FAQ answers the unlock question with a capital-letter 'NO!'. The page also says the bike is road legal in all states and territories, which our reading of each state's rules agrees with.

VelectriX also prints its NSW compliance certificate number on the page, so NSW buyers can check it against Fair Trading's register.

Who it suits

This is the bike the matcher picks most often for short and medium commutes, mainly because VelectriX publishes rider heights for each frame and a rider-only load limit, so we can confirm the fit. A 160 cm rider is covered by two sizes.

The weak point is the battery: 417 Wh is among the smallest here, and VelectriX's own figure is only up to 50 km. For a round trip over about 30 km, plan to charge at work or look at a bigger battery.
