Where they differ
Who can ride it
Leon's manual caps the Aspen at 125 kg for rider and bike together, about 96 kg for you. VelectriX allows a 125 kg rider plus 55 kg across its racks. For anyone over about 90 kg, the SUV is the safer choice.
The Aspen manual lists a total weight, driver plus bike, of 125 kg. (NCM Aspen owner's manual, checked )
Battery and wheels
The Aspen has a 624 Wh battery on 26-inch, 4-inch-wide tyres; the SUV a 540 Wh battery on smaller 20 × 3.3-inch tyres, which makes it shorter and easier to park. Leon claims up to 120 km; VelectriX claims up to 75 km.
VelectriX lists a 540 Wh battery and 'Up to 75 kms per full charge' for the SUV. (VelectriX, checked )
Peak watts in the advertising
Leon sells the Aspen on '750W peak'; VelectriX advertises only the 250 W rating. Both are 250 W rated, which is the figure the law reads. VelectriX also sells a 500 W SUV+, which it says is legal only in NSW; that's a different bike from the one compared here.
The Aspen page lists 'Das-Kit X15F motor, 48V 250W, 750W Peak Power, max speed 25 km/h'. (Leon Cycle, checked )
