Where they differ
How each proves it's legal
Specialized prints its compliance on the product page, at 250 W continuous and 25 km/h, and notes it meets NSW's planned 2029 rule. Lekker puts its proof in NSW certification documents linked from its footer, naming EN 15194:2017+A1:2023 and a 250 W rating. Either is enough for Queensland, WA and the NT.
Specialized: 'EN15194 compliant (250W Cont, 25_km/h) as required on NSW roads and road related areas from March 2029'. (Specialized Australia, checked )
Battery against torque
The Como's 710 Wh battery is the reason to pay more: Specialized claims up to 145 km in eco. The Lekker's Bafang mid-drive makes 80 Nm to the Como's 70 Nm, for steeper streets, but its standard battery is 504 Wh.
Lekker's NSW information sheet for the Amsterdam GTS names EN 15194:2017+A1:2023 and 250 W maximum continuous rated power. (Lekker certification documents, checked )
Sizing and what's included
Lekker publishes rider heights for three frames up to 205 cm; Specialized's page doesn't print rider heights. Lekker's $4,298 includes a battery it preselects (the bike alone is $3,450), and it was out of stock when we checked.
Lekker's prices include GST; the Amsterdam GTS lists 50, 56 and 60 cm frames for riders 155–205 cm. (Lekker Bikes, checked )
