Why it gets these verdicts
Lekker's product page talks about ride feel, not watts. The legal facts sit one click away, in the NSW certification documents Lekker links from its footer: a NSW Fair Trading information sheet that gives a maximum continuous rated power of 250 W and names the 2017 edition of EN 15194 with its 2023 amendment. That's more paperwork than most sellers publish, and it is what makes the verdict firm in Queensland, WA and the NT.
Lekker's FAQ also says that tuning the bike past 25 km/h is against the law. We found no switch, app setting or off-road mode on the GTS.

Who it suits
The mid-drive drives through the gears, so on a steep street it climbs better than its watts suggest; 80 Nm is well above the median of the bikes we list. Lekker publishes rider heights for its three frames, from 155 cm to 205 cm, so tall riders are covered.
The maximum load on the size chart is 115 kg, and Lekker doesn't say whether that includes the bike. Its NSW sheet gives a higher figure; we use the lower one. Every colour was out of stock on the day we checked.
