Ampd Bros ACE-X vs Fatfish Biggie (EN 15194)
Specs, prices and rules checked
The short answer
The Biggie (EN 15194) is legal in 8 of 8 states, the ACE-X in 4
The Biggie is legal everywhere; the ACE-X road version is legal in four states, legal for now in NSW and Queensland, and not legal in WA or the NT. The bikes are alike on paper. The certificate is the difference: EN 15194 for the Biggie, UL for the ACE-X Series 4.
Pick the ACE-X instead if you live in Victoria, SA, Tasmania or the ACT and want the higher load rating and torque, in the road configuration.
The filled button is the bike legal in more states with no end date, or the cheaper when that’s equal.

The numbers
Ampd Bros ACE-X and Fatfish Biggie (EN 15194) side by side
| Bike | Price | Rated power | Torque | Battery | Rider and load | Legal today in |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ampd Bros ACE-X | $2,490 | 250 W | 65 Nm | 780 Wh | 180 kg | 6 of 8 |
| Fatfish Biggie (EN 15194) | $2,799 | 250 W | Not published | 960 Wh | 125 kg | 8 of 8 |
Where they differ
The standard on the frame
Both are 250 W with assistance to 25 km/h and a throttle that stops at 6 km/h. WA and the NT allow 250 W only on a bike certified to EN 15194, and Queensland will want an EN 15194 or Legacy EPAC label from March 2027. Ampd says its Series 4 bikes conform to UL standards and only Series 5 to EN 15194.
Ampd's compliance page: 'Series 4 models conform to UL ; Series 5 models conform to EN15194.' (Ampd Bros compliance page, checked )
Load and torque favour the ACE-X
Ampd rates the ACE-X for 180 kg with 65 Nm of torque; the Biggie's page gives a 125 kg carrying capacity and no torque figure. For a heavy rider in Victoria or SA, that's a real reason to choose the ACE-X.
The ACE-X page lists 'Max Loading 180kg' and 'High Torque 65N.m'. (Ampd Bros, checked )
Battery and price
The Biggie carries 960 Wh against the ACE-X's 780 Wh, and costs $2,799 against $2,490. Make sure you order the ACE-X's road configuration: the off-road one, same price, is illegal on every road and path.
The Biggie's battery is listed as 960 Wh with Samsung cells. (Ride Electric, checked )
